Magdalena Egger wins 2 Golds and 1 Silver at EYOF

  • The SCA Squad racer gains momentum

At the European Youth Olympics Festival in Sarajevo, the 18-year-old Magdalena Egger from Lech managed a great coup, winning 2 golds and a silver. To begin with, she won the gold medal in slalom. Twodays later, she carved her way to victory in the giant slalom, despite this not being her favourite discipline. Until now, Magdalena, who is a student in Stams, had felt more comfortable in slalom and the speed disciplines. Towards the end of the Youth Olympics, she crowned her achievements with a silver medal in the team event. At the Closing Ceremony in east Sarajevo on Friday evening, Magdalena was given a special honour: the golden girl from the Arlberg, who celebrated her 18th birthday last Friday, was selected to carry the flag for the 34-member Austrian Youth Olympics Team.

Since 2015-16 Magdalena has been attending the Ski Gymnasium in Stams. Last Season, due to her achievements, she was awarded “Rookie of the Year” and selected for the ÖSV C Squad.
The Ski Club Arlberg team is thrilled with Magdalena’s success. Dear Magdalena, we wish you all the best in the rest of the season and many more successful races!
